With my Open University studies over for another year, I thought I’d share some advice on how to minimise stress levels ahead of the big assignments.
I haven't done a writing update for a while, and I have a big week up ahead with regards my writing and my degree, so I thought this was a good time for one. Hopefully it’ll help minimise my stress over the next eight days.
Just three weeks short of his first birthday, our Svennypoo has killed his first bird, causing some mixed emotions. At least I’ve discovered how mobile phones are the best way to read books in the modern world.
Earlier today, I got down on bended knee and requested permission to spend the rest of my life with the woman of my dreams. It is the highest honour bestowed upon me that my proposal was accepted.
While the world was focused on WrestleMania, a far more prestigious event was taking place: Krazy Krusher versus Captain Chaos for the Circle Pit Championship. Here, we have a rundown of the contestants, as well as exclusive video footage of their titanic battle.
Sven put us through the ringer on Sunday, going missing for hours without having touched his breakfast, and leaving no clue of his whereabouts. While the special boy stressed us all out, the Newcastle players did their best to ease the tension with a simply wonderful performance.
In this entry, I share a video we made with the kids where they dropped Mentos in Diet Coke. I then talk about the frustration of the modern internet, before highlighting a friend who has gone above and beyond this last year, then finishing by dismantling Carragher's argument that Aguero is better than Shearer.
Chapter Thirteen: Writing Talk, Therapeutic Societies, Lockdown Fatigue and Brief Film Reviews30/3/2021
This latest journal entry talks about the structure of my writing and some possibilities for the future. It touches on therapeutic societies and whether they are a good or bad thing, before discussing my lockdown fatigue. Finally, there are some short reviews of films I've seen recently.
This latest journal entry covers the return to writing of one of the great Cumbrian writers, Les Floyd, who made his comeback this week, after three years away, by publishing an early contender for blog of the year.
This latest journal entry talks about the experience of returning to live at my mother's house, only this time, with a family in tow. It also discusses special boy Sven's holiday at Furry Tails cattery, how my partner's son finally fought back against his bully, and the wonderful tale of Pez's miracle cat, finally found after two years.
This latest journal entry pays tribute to Glenn Roeder, the former Newcastle player and manager. I also name five darts players I think will shine this year, comment on how Newcastle's injury crisis should be seen as an opportunity, and finish with a nice story that made me smile.
This entry reflects on two recent entries in the LAWES Report, how my efforts to secure a mortgage have to be put on hold, how grateful I am to secure a refund for Rammstein, even though it means not seeing one of my favourite bands, and the continued joys of watching wrestling with my partner's son, who has some great insights into the action.
So many talented people become frozen by the fear of their creations not being good enough. I hope this essay can help you overcome your self-doubt and discover the artist your heart knows that you are.
The world needs your art, now more than ever. I talk about the difficulty in attracting readers to my website, while remembering the days when my work achieved overwhelming reactions. I discuss being rejected for a mortgage, and the challenge of completing my university assignment with very little time to do the work.
This chapter focuses on how my partner and I helped her six-year-old daughter with the grief of losing her pet cat. It also has my partner's son's thoughts on this week's AEW Dynamite, an update on my university issues and the strange search term that will get you to this site.
